Your ERP is only as accurate as the last time someone sat down and updated it.
The update that waits
The people who know what actually happened usually aren't at a desk. They're on a job site, at a machine, or at a customer's shop two states away. So the update waits until they get back, or it never happens at all.
The cost shows up downstream. Purchasing buys off numbers that are wrong. Hours sit unbilled for a week. Everyone downstream of the ERP is working from a picture of the business that is a few days old.
Texting the ERP
At an electrical tool manufacturer, we built text to ERP. Someone texts what changed — a PO came in, a lot got scrapped, a job moved — and the ERP updates. A confirmation comes back in seconds.
There's no new app to learn and no form to fill out. The person closest to the work reports it the way they would tell a coworker, and the system of record stays current.
Now on older on-prem ERPs too
Text to ERP now works on older on-prem systems as well, including Sage 300, Sage 300 CRE, SYSPRO, and Guardian. Your ERP can be twenty years old and sitting in a closet, and your people can still update it from their phones. (We wrote about how we got AI working on these systems in AI on the ERP you already have.)
